Reading Materials

For those of you who'd like to find out more about birds in general and crows and ravens in particular, here is a list of some of my favourite sources of information.

They are mostly books, but there is one blog in particular that I recommend over and over. It's Corvid Research by Seattle scientist, Kaeli Swift. If you have a question about crows, it's highly likely you'll find it somewhere on her blog. You can also follow her via social media on Twitter and Instagram. You can hone your skill in telling crows and ravens and other corvids apart on her weekly "Crow or No" contest.

Now to some of my favourite books and authors. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but these are some of my beloved ones.

Crow Planet, Urban Bestiary and Mozart's Starling by Lyanda Lynn Haupt

Corvus — A Life with Birds, and Field Notes from a Hidden City

by Esther Woolfson

Gifts of the Crow and In the Company of Crows and Ravens and Subirdia  by John Marzluff

Mind of the Raven by Bernd Heinrich

What the Robin Knows by Jon Young
